Safetysorb chlorine adsorbent media from PureAir is impregnated with a proprietary PureAir chemical formulation to remove 100% of chlorine gas in plants and air streams. After chlorine is adsorbed, it undergoes a chemical reaction to form a new, completely harmless compound for both the environment and human health. When the odor control unit operates with Safetysorb media, chlorine is captured and retained, and the exhaust air or liquid is discharged in a clean condition.
This media remains on standby, ready to absorb in case of an emergency. When a leak occurs, chlorine gas is drawn from the affected area and passed through the Safetysorb media bed.
Safetysorb then reacts with chlorine to produce a benign, non-hazardous solid byproduct that can be disposed of as non-hazardous solid waste. This media is non-flammable and meets the 300°C auto-ignition level as defined by ASTM-3466-76.

After the media is loaded into trays, the unit operates to activate the filtration process, ensuring clean air discharge and preventing environmental impact.
- Construction and Removal Capability of Safetysorb
Safetysorb chlorine adsorbent media is manufactured in pressed pellets with very fine pores, formed from activated alumina powder and impregnated with reactive chemicals to enhance chlorine removal capacity.
Manufacturing method: The pellets are impregnated in such a way that the chemical is evenly distributed throughout the entire pellet, ensuring uniform adsorption and complete chlorine removal.
